Tough travel has long been part of playing on the West Coast in the NHL, but the Canucks' current four-game road trip tests the boundaries of common sense.

After wrapping up a six-game homestand Saturday and flying cross-country all day Sunday for Monday's 2-1 shootout loss to the New York Islanders, the Canucks get two days in New York, taking on the Rangers on Wednesday, before things get silly.

After the Rangers game Wednesday, the Canucks fly more than halfway across the country to take on Northwest Division rival Minnesota the following night. From there, they go back east to Pittsburgh for an early afternoon game Saturday.

That's three games in 3 1/2 days with two long flights in between.
